Once Feb. comes, will this go into the trash?? It has no plug and only a chintzy antenna.

A few are starting to show up and there are sure to be many more.Have any of the mfgrs come out with a small replacement digital TV that can be used in emegencies (for us hurricanes) that will take the place of those small TV's we will be throwing out?
One alternate approach is to get an ATSC tuner that you can plug into a laptop computer. You'll still probably want to connect to an external antenna.
I think this makes the most sense. Great idea, Doug!

Wow, Elan - thanks for the link - that's a great price - the best prices I saw before seeing your link were between $70 -$90 dollars.
Thanks again.

Back in the bad old days, we used to feed cable to an old TV with no external input by taping one lead of a balun (round thing with two screw terminal leads coming out of it) and connecting the cable feed to the connector on the balun.
We then would pickup the signal coming from the cable through the TV tuner. You likely could do this with an DTV converter box, but given how inexpensive low end TV's go these days with external inputs...it's likely time to retire that little TV.
