So, we are all stuck inside with nowhere to go. I’ve been dreaming of vacationing so why not talk about it? So, here’s the question. What’s the one HGVC resort that you haven’t visited that you want to and why? It can be because of any reason you want.

Mine? Tortuga Beach Club Resort. The resort looks like a quiet place to relax. The reviews are amazing and the location is someplace I would love to go.

On the opposite of the relaxing resort spectrum is Elara. I love Vegas and Elara looks like the perfect combination of swanky and location. Hopefully, I can cross this resort off my list in 2021

What’s yours?

I own in Scotland, I have to say I would not want to spend a week there, but would be fun to stay there and do the trips to Balmoral and castles. I'd want to spend time in Edinburgh and Glasgow which is a bit too far for day trips from Craigendarroch

We're booked for Park City, UT, in December.
I don't ski, but there seems to be a lot for flat-landers like me.

On the bucket list, Italy... the real Tuscany.

My favorite resort is the Hilton Hawaiian Village. We are booked there in September and again in January. We will only go once but this resort is hard to book so that we can't wait when availabilty is there. We will go in September if the coronavirus makes that possible and safe, otherwise we will go in January.

What is there to do in Park City in December besides skiing. We don't like cold so December for us is spelled Hawaii or South Beach.

I want to go to one of the Florida gulf coast resorts too. But not in off-season. Never been to the gulf side of Florida and keep hearing how it's warm and has great sand. I'm a Hawaii beach snob, so want to compare the sand ;)

While I never stayed at any of the Gulf Keys, I went to Treasure Island (by Clearwater/St Petersburg/Tampa) several times as a kid. My Grandparents would take us there every so often and we would enjoy the beach, hit St John’s Pass, Tarpon Springs and go to Busch Gardens. That beach at Treasure Island is fantastic! Bright white sand that went forever. I can still smell it. If HGVC ever put a resort there, I would be ecstatic! I’ve been to Myrtle Beach and many of the Great Lakes popular beaches (Traverse City has a phenomenal beach as does Grand Haven and Holland), but Treasure Island is still ranks at the top for me.

I'd suggest going in the summer if you don't ski and don't like the cold. Lots to do and some beautiful scenery. Plus, summer at the Park City resort is Gold season, so it costs less points!

Olympic Park incl. bobsled runs, snowmobiling (guided/rental), tubing, gondolas, sleigh rides, hot spring soaks & a distillery tour.

For someone who hasn't seen snow in 10 years (other than at Yellowstone in June two years ago), itll be a treat.

SW Florida has wide, soft white sand beaches (some w-great shelling),
and gentle, warm surf. But some peep aren't into that.

Mine would be Ocean Oak in Hilton Head, SC. I like the low rise units, location and chill vibe. I hope someday to be able to book a vacation there since it's so difficult to find any availability.

Since I also mentioned not liking the cold the only one that would be for us would be the distillery tour. I guess we would need to go along with PigsDad suggestion and go in the summer!

Great thread! Mine would be Miami and Algarve, Portugal because we have never been there. For Miami we will also visit the Keys. Algarve would be 2022 or beyond given current situation.

In the summer the Olympic Park is also a great place to visit. There are ski jumping shows (yes, in the summer) where they land in a large pool. You can ride the ski lifts up to the top of the ski jumps, hike around, and for the more adventurous, you can slide down the ski jump landing areas on an inner tube, ride the bobsled course (on wheels), and there is a ropes course. Could easily spend all day there.

From the resort, there are some great hiking trails. Head into the town of Park City and there are some great restaurants, parks, a restored, old theater where they host live productions, and just a fun, interesting downtown. Drive 30 min to Salt Lake City and there are plenty of "big city" activities, tour the Mormon temple complex (if that interests you).

I was thinking this as well. We have Florida Atlantic coast relatives and went the Captiva with them a few years back. Did not even know at the time that HGVC had Captiva/Sanibel properties, but wouldn't mind going back :)

Cheers.

You are talking about Vilamoura, correct? Tuscany is one place I would enjoy going, but the other half is nervous going to a place where we don’t know the language. Someday I will convince her, but there are so many places to go, I can wait.

They'll speak English. Often better than most Americans.

Oh, I know. Not going to worry about that until down the road. I probably will point her to a Tug post I started asking that question.

Any location on the beach still has access to the beach. Timeshares and hotels are not include in Gov DeSantis's requirements for cancellation. All the restaurants are closed except for delivery and pickup though. Bars are all closed, so if you want to imbibe, you'll need to bring your own or hit the Winn Dixie or Publix. We have nine cases of WuFlu right now. No deaths, other than the Yankees who haven't gone home yet and really stress the ambulance service here.

What’s yours?

HHV Lagoon tower is where I want to go the most, and we will make it in a few years when my kids are a little closer to grown.

My wife and I had our honeymoon in Honolulu 15 years ago. We stayed in a nice hotel not far from HHV. I wanted to make it back soon, and promised myself we would stay in HHV when we did. Life happened since then. We have great kids and traveling there from the East coast is hard. We will eventually make it and will have a memory maker of a trip when we do. Also will stay on the Big Island for a week.

The Crane is the location I am most curious about. I look forward to a relaxing vacay to one of the Florida affiliates when thing work out schedule wise.
