Colorado Weather: March-Style Storm Hits In June, Brings Needed Rain And Snow

Going into this week, Denver was below normal with precipitation for the month, the season, and the year. Then an unusually strong storm for June arrived and put a significant dent in the deficits.

I tell you what, y'all go to some great lengths to avoid mowing your lawn!
 
Shhh. We're trying to keep the Mountain West a secret! Last Saturday, I had to wear a parka, and the snow level on the surrounding mountains above Boise was just a little higher than the buildings (honest) Sunday morning. The wind (40 mph) blew us home Sunday afternoon, and I haven't been able to wear shorts until today (Wednesday). The forecast high was 70 yesterday, 80 today, and 90 on Thursday/Friday. Cool and rainy over the weekend. This is normal in April. Not June.
 
Snowed in Park City Monday. Quite a lot. Enough to cover the ground and roofs. Melted quickly.
