[Oct. thread] Tahiti Village still seems to sell for 5K or more

With the major FALL of timeshare pricing (especially ebay listings), I notice that Tahiti Village resales are one of the few no-names (NOT Marriott, Hilton, etc) that are still selling for 5k or more.

Now, as I understand it, it is a new resort, and I don't think
it is sold out yet. So, if that is the case---perhaps it is understandable that a place that is currently selling new units for $20k (is that about right?)----has ebay units selling for a 'steal' at 5k.

It's just kind of weird for me to search for ebay offerings and come across FEW resorts with bids of more than 2-3k---then all of a sudden I see the Tahiti Village as an exception to that.

p.s On the flip side, if owners that paid $20k a year or so ago are selling for 5k---they surely aren't thinking that selling at 5k is a good deal for THEM as a seller.

I sure wouldn't be happy about selling a TS, that less than a year old, for >1/4 of what I paid.

Unless things have changed, those "sales" at 5K seem to get relisted frequently. There are better timeshares in Vegas for the same or lower amounts.

TV was selling 2 bedroom units closer to $40,000 last time I heard anything about pricing. The two other Consolidated resorts sell for around $1,000 which is where I expect resales to end up with TV. I wouldn't recommend buying in at 5K and I certainly would NOT consider it a steal.

I bet no one has bid because after paying all those fees the total with the starting bid comes out to be $1405. That's a lot I think for an eoy off strip. I've noticed that a lot of the ebay sellers charge a closing cost charge in addition to a resort transfer fee. Isn't that generally part of the closing cost? It even states not including title insurance.

Maybe somebody ought to take them to task under various real estate laws sometime.

I don't know which auctions you are tracking, but the ones I was looking at were lucky to get $1500 for a ey.

This is an old thread from October, that was brought out of mothballs by post #4. The resale market has gone downhill since then...
