Hi Everyone. About when do the OceanWatch summer rentals on say Redweek and MyResortNetwork usually rent? I have heard from many owners who say renting those weeks is easy but I see a lot of summer weeks, some way more than others but most around the same price just sitting there.

I may be in the position to rent my week this year and I was wondering when those units start moving. I've never used any of the rental sights before but I see that almost all of the units do rent. Not sure if they are being rented or the listing just expires and redweek marks those as rented?

Just want to be prepared for this new venture. To be honest, I wish I could deposit my week with II or better yet Marriott this year and get two weeks next year but that isn't possible with Marriott and unless I want a late August week, it doesn't seem to be possible with II, either. I've come to the conclusion that all I can do is rent the week and use those funds next year to rent a week from someone.

Thanks.

-Jim

The majority of rentals occur 6 - 1 month from check-in in my experience, although some renters do start to look at the 12 month window.

Since I have many weeks to rent I actually list mine for 12 months because there are definitely some who look to secure rentals with FF seats so you can get a renter that far out, but if I just had one unit to rent I'd LIST my week at the 8 month mark to coincide with that period as much as possible and not incur 2 ad fees.

I list at a fair price, not the lowest nor the highest and I've never ever had a problem renting any of my Marriotts at a good price on Redweek.

Redweek is definitely the way to go for a summer week Marriott.

I've already rented mine

Listed my Myrtle Beach 11-months out on TUG board... and it rented within about six weeks to a fellow Tugger. I already have the check and he already has his name on the reservation.

:)
