There have been previous threads concerning this issue. Marriott made a huge mistake when they assigned the last two weeks of August to the gold season. Lots of purchasers in states other than the South have school systems that do not start classes until the day after Labor Day. Lots of these people purchased gold time at Ocean Watch figuring that they would save some $$ over platinum time and take the family on vacation the last two weeks of August before school starts. So now they have many, many unhappy purchasers who are all trying to book one of those two weeks and can't get them. there was actually a seller on EBAY a couple of years ago who was trying to dump his Oceanwatch Gold week who posted that he had tried for three years running and had been unable to book one of those two precious weeks. When he complained to his Marriott sales person the sales person actually told him to buy another week so that he could book at 13 months. Talk about rubbing salt into the wound!
