My in-laws have recently decided to cancel their travel for this trip, so we are renting the Studio Premium portion of our 2 bedroom-lockoff home reservation (guaranteed oceanfront unit). We made the reservation exactly a year in advance, so we "should" get a good room assignment (i.e. a high floor). My wife and I will be staying in the one-bedroom side of the villa.
The Studio units at Westin Kaanapali North are larger than a typical studio (almost 500 sf). They have a full-sized refrigerator/freezer, kitchen sink, 2-burner ceramic stovetop, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker, in-unit washer and dryer, and a private lanai with patio furniture. Watch the whales from your oceanfront lanai chair, as well as watch the sunset each evening!) All units have been recently renovated (last year).
To travel to Hawaii, you must get a COVID test (and test negative and upload the results) within 72 hours of your flight departure to Hawaii. Here is the official website for Maui County's travel rules: https://www.mauicounty.gov/2393/Coronavirus-COVID-19-Transportation-Rela
Payment will be due 100% in full, no refunds for any reason (i.e. illness, test result or travel delays, etc.) I have a simple rental agreement we'll both sign. Here's a link to the resort webpage https://www.vistana.com/destinations/the-westin-kaanapali-ocean-resort-villas-north (although I notice Vistana hasn't updated their pictures of the renovations yet--they are beautiful!)
Did I mention this is whale season, and a guaranteed oceanfront unit? There are some good airfare options from the west coast for last-minute travel to paradise!
Thanks,
David
