We’re at KBV currently. We were supposed to arrive on Sunday but due to flight cancellations on the mainland, got here Tuesday afternoon. DH and I are in F3, and DD with SIL are in F1.

when we arrived, the front desk gave us a piece of paper shown here, and advised us that it was “from corporate“. They reported that a guest had been hit on the head by some falling debris from the ceiling of their lanai hence the closure.

F1 actually has a few missing pieces of plaster from the ceiling and a closure notice taped to the sliding glass door. Not the case for F3. I would feel better about the whole thing if there was a date on the closure notice. As it is, it seems potentially open ended.

How disappointing! It will be interesting to see how soon the board installed by Wyndham gets a move on this. This is not a new problem.

Aloha,
Friends who own at KBV stayed during November and sent me the same picture. They used the lanai anyway and reported than many people were still using the lanais.
Jack
p.s. our daughter is staying in G2 right now and got the same notice

So they’ve known about this for at least six months and their solution is to ask their paying guests to consider a prime section of their units off limits?

And use words like “currently evaluating and repairing…. Short notice…. Just came to our attention” when there is no sign of any progress or action after months?

It's actually been going on for longer than that: when I asked the Wyndham resort Mgr. about it 2 years ago, she said she didn't know they were closed.
