Our son loves Nanea. He is staying via exchange this week in a 2 bedroom with his family, and they have 3 kids. He is very interested in buying a 3 bedroom OF unit at Nanea.

How would he go about getting that view every year, oceanfront, in a 3 bedroom?

I asked Syed, and he has nothing for sale currently, but Redweek has a unit for $55,000. Our son is interested, but I don't really understand how the new product Westin is selling works.

Can anyone enlighten me on what Nanea is being sold as? Some sort of options, are they flex options, and what would guarantee his view every year.

Nanea is a single site HomeOptions resort. This means you buy HomeOptions equivalent to what you want to book. That said, there are two categories of HomeOptions. You can buy resort view HomeOptions or you can buy Ocean Front HomeOptions. I do beleive there were ways for people to buy HomeOptions that were also good for a specific week and fixed to the unit, but I don't really know how all that worked. But if out there shopping, one wants to look for Ocean Front HomeOptions at Nanea.

Be aware that the building directly behind the pool is considered OF. You should be able to search for a property map, I found it on tug in the past. I have not stayed back there but would be less happy with those units. The OF home options will allow you to reserve any number of nights in a 2 bed or 3 bed OF unit at 12 months out. This resort is not mandatory, so star options do not come with a resale but star options would be a bad conversion anyway.

I should add that I have stayed in the 3bedroom OF in summer using star options twice, but with Marriott taking over, I doubt they will be available as easily in the future.
