Ok......so they just called us at home to invite us to the sales presentation while we're at OP next week (actually I agreed to attend the pitch on our way back, after our cruise). They offered me enough to cover 3 of our 4 vacation days there:whoopie:

But then I just read on another post here that it was one of the worst sales pressure presentations someone had ever been to...

I was planning to announce that we are members of TUG; no intention of buying and I'd check ebay before I headed downstairs for the meeting just to have a couple of good resale examples ready.

Is it really the worst? I know I can cancel but it seems like such a good savings! How else can I prepare to "keep is short; take my "gift" and get back to vacation" ??:ponder:

If this is Marriott, you may want to go. I know someone who had one of the Old Marriott programs and they offered him a couple of options under the new system that did not cost him any money. The timeshare arm was just spun off from the main corporation.

We just attended their presentation 2 weeks ago and it wasn't high pressure. We had some questions and the agent talked more than she should have about herself (very expressive), so it took a little longer than it probably should have. I should have controlled it more than I did, so that is on me. All in all, it was worth it to us.

We had a similar experience. No super high pressure, just make you think you are doing something dumb by not buying trust points. Rolls off the back and move on. I would go again for another 17.5K in MR points.

We had our sales presentation today at the Maui Ocean Club. Excellent no pressure presentation. Maui for the most part has a first class sales organization. The sales rep suggested that we might want to wait to consider buying a few points until Marriott has established its program for buying back points an owner wants to get rid of. I could attend presentations like this every week.
