IMO, I think DC may be effecting resale prices also. People who are buying these know that in order to exchange them they must pay the annual II fee and exchange fees. Sure they had to pay these before DC but knowing that they are now free for DC members and the potential loss of Marriott inventory in II is probably hurting resale prices further. They are no longer appealing as traders.

For someone looking to buy a home resort to use every year, the deals will be great.

I think you are correct! Did you get it?

No, I didn't get it, although I did bid on it. Since this was an Oceanview unit I was a little worried about getting stuck in the 2nd tower (back building) when making reservations, and also I wasn't really impressed with the Gold Season time frame for occupancy. Hence I let it slip away....

Someone else will have fun with it instead.

What did Marriott originally sell that week for? What a huge loss for an owner- and the resort isn't even that old.

Supposedly owners of deeded weeks will get preference, but that could always change. I'm also not impressed with gold season and the MFs are a bit high for a trader.
