Staying in Ocean Pointe in early November. Have always stayed in Kingfish facing north - like it a lot - am wondering whether we should try main area - Pompano facing north - am a little concerned that it might be too noisy and Pompano only has old furnishings - will we feel let down or will we have a more resort feel to our vacation - going with wife only for much needed break. Someone suggested Sailfish north side. Any thoughts are appreciated.

When we stay in the main complex, I've come to the point where I prefer either Pompano or Cobia. The problem I have with Pompano is that we own a three bedroom unit and the three bedroom units at Pompano are on the south side facing the pink building. Not that it's a horrible view but, when staying in the main comples I prefer to look at the resort grounds vs looking at the pink building.

We haven't been in Cobia in a number of years and, the only time we were in that building was when we locked off our unit and traded back in the next year. I like the location because it's a little more removed from the higher traffic family area, yet close to the Cobia pool and not to far from the fitness center.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with either Sailfish or Dolphin and they have wonderful views but, I enjoy a more quite evening and you can hear the poolside evening entertainment best from these buildings. Sailfish recently underwent a full refurbish and, I'm pretty sure is the freshest of the buildings at Ocean Pointe. I'm not sure where we are with the rest of the buildings other than Kingfish underwent a soft refurbish a couple of years ago.

We're in the minority in that we much prefer Kingfish but, we go to Ocean Pointe to relax, enjoy the sun and the beach. Kingfish is a little more remote, has it's own fitness center and tends to be quiter, which is what we're looking for. The main complex has most of the amenities and more activity and beautiful grounds so most people enjoy it more. I enjoy the short walk to the main grounds and the quite nights when we stay in Kingfish.

Really, I don't believe you can go wrong with any location. I know we've always been happy just being at Ocean Pointe for a week.

FWIW, we'll be at Ocean Pointe from Nov. 5th to the 12th. We've requested Kingfish, Cobia and Pompano in that order. To date every time we've requested Kingfish first, that's were we've been placed and we've been very pleased by that.

Thank you for your insight. We are in a two bedroom OS - Pompano looked good because it seemed removed from the hustle and bustle though obviously not as much as Kingfish. We like the north side for the shade it offers and the view is usually pretty nice - even from Kingfish - the pink building seems closer to Pompano south side than Kingfish north side. We'll be at Ocean Pointe again in January so maybe we'll take the quiet of Kingfish and let January fall where it will. As an aside - we don't overlap with you - we come in on 10/28 and leave on 11/4.

The north side of Pompano does offer a lot of shade, but the views out of the south side are really fantastic, especially if you are on an upper floor.

Enjoy your trip!
