Hey all. We have a 2BR OF booked for spring break, and I was hoping some experienced Ocean Pointe folks could answer a question for us. The confirmation details say the 2nd bedroom will have either a king with sleeper OR two twins. I did some searching within the MVC forums to see if I could find an easy distinction to know where each is listed, and found a few contradicting responses. Is there a way to know, based on our reservation being for a 2BR OceanFront, whether those units are always one config or the other? Thank you!

If you get the 2 Bedroom with twin beds then that is the 3 bedroom unit where the lockoff room (that has the King and sleeper) has been reserved in another reservation.
If you get the unit where the 2nd bedroom has the king and sleeper that is the traditional 2 bedroom unit.
I have been given both type units (on check in) in past reservations so I am not sure you can be guaranteed your preference on that as it would be based on availability.

I read in other threads that the twins will be in a 3BR unit that is locked off. But I also saw someone mention that all OceanFront 2BR’s are the 2BR portion of 3BR units. Meaning I will definitely have a unit with twin beds. But others said that wasn’t true.

To provide a more specific question, are all 2BR OceanFront units part of a 3BR lock off, or not? If they are, that means I will get the 2 twins. If there are other 2BR’s that are OceanFront, then it will be a craps shoot, and I get what I get.

All 3 Bedrooms units are Ocean Front at OP. But not all Ocean Front rooms are 3 Bedrooms. So you could be assigned an OF 2 Bedroom unit with the King/Sleeper 2nd Bedroom. So yes it is a crapshoot. You can always put in a request with pre-arrival as to your preference although it is not guaranteed.

How did you book this? I suspect that they have the generic description to account for both possibilities. The 2BR lock off will have a king in the studio side where the 2BR of the 3BR lock off will have twin beds in the second bedroom. When you look up the reservation on Marriott.com, it should provide specific details as to what the bedroom setup is like. You are likely to get whichever is showing on Marriott.com associated with your reservation. They are unlikely to switch your unit type at checkin.

To the OP, dioxide45 has some excellent videos on YouTube of this resort. IMHO.

If you obtain the two bedroom portion of the three bedroom Villa then your view will not only be Oceanfront but it will also be beach front........

All the other two bedroom Oceanfront Villas will front the inlet and will not have two twin beds in the guest bedroom.

This really only applies to Kingfish. It is true that all of the 2BR portion of the 3BR units will be beachfront. That is a loose term because they certainly aren't right on the beach, but they face the Atlantic Ocean. This is the case for all of these types of units at Ocean Pointe. With a 2BR portion of a 3BR unit, your chances of being in the main section of the resort grow exponentially. This ie because there are only five of these units in Kingfish and all the rest (27 units) are in the main section.

However, there are also 29 oceanfront two bedroom lockoff units in the main section of the resort. I think this is about half of all the 2BR OF units. The other half are in Kingfish and as you say, many of them face the inlet. Though not all of them.

I booked via Abound points. I will take a look again.

Ok. The reservation on the Marriott.com site says it will be 2 twins. So that means a 3BR lock off, based on what was already said. Thanks all!
Is there a resort map that shows where these 3BR units are located at the resort, meaning in which buildings? We have never been there.

They are in every building. Corner units in each building. The video linked in post #9 details this also.
  • Southeast corner of Sailfish (except the first floor) - 6 units
  • Northeast corner of Dolphin - 7 units
  • Southeast corner of Cobia - 7 units
  • Southeast corner of Pompano - 7 units
  • Northeast corner Kingfish - 5 units

There are three bedroom units in every building. This is the last video we made of the master of the three bedroom unit. This particular unit is in Sailfish and faces south,
