On a hopeful note (that all will be well by Sept)....

The Marriott website mentioned construction starting in early Sept and going thru Nov. Does anyone know what they will be working on?

If I am correct, they will be replacing every single window (including sliding glass doors) in the entire Resort. I hear it's a very expensive project.

Replacements windows costs are not to bad, but sliding doors are about 3x or 5x the costs of one replacement window in our area of Tidewater Virginia.

Thanks a lot - that sounds noisy but it is not a major amenity out of commission (like a pool, the gym, tiki bar, etc).

We were supposed to check in this Friday for our 8th year in a row at this time of year - it is our favorite resort and one of the most pleasant weather/climate times to go. We pushed to Sept in hopes that is far enough out. Not ideal weather time dodging hurricanes either - but construction noise will just not be an issue after everything else if we get to go.

I was under the impression that they already replaced all of the windows in the damaged villas (primarily ocean front) after the hurricane. Hopefully, they don't need to be replaced again.

Hopefully using hurricane glass? We have that at our FL home and at Crystal Shores - makes for heavy sliding doors but worth it not having to worry so much about shutters.

Yes, all hurricane glass for sure! One of the reasons the project is so expensive.....

Oh, I bet May is really nice there. We were there in November 2017, after my daughter’s wedding that October. Weather was a bit cool and it rained a couple of days. But, it was relaxing, and we scored inexpensive nonstop flights from Boston. We loved the resort. Stayed a few nights in Delray Beach too.

It really is a great time to go.

Mid April - early May and late Oct thru Nov are our favorite times to go to FL. The crowds are down and the chance of rain is much lower. It is much more laid back and the Interval Inventory is available as it is lower season. The first week of May is about 20% chance or rain as is the first week of Nov. The beginning of June thru then end of Sept are 50-70% chance of rain. May and Oct are when those percentages switch.
