Ocean Point O.F. 2 bedroom advice

I am going to rent from another owner for Easter 2012. Debating on O.V. or O.F. There will only be a $200 price difference for the week. I want O.F. especially for that little spread, but, I don't want to be in Kingfish-I want Dolphin or Sailfish. Question is with only 7 O.F. units in each of those bldgs. will I have a shot? I will have the owner put in those requests but I don't know what the odds will be for success. I guess I could always wait till I get there and if they say Kingfish I could try to change to O.V. and ask for D or S. Anybody care to give me odds of getting my first choice?

Actually, all those buildings have many more Ocean Front units than 7. Keep in mind that each building (except Kingfish) is 7 stories high, and my guess is that there are 4 Oceanfront Villas per floor. Assuming my numbers are correct, each building (except Kingfish) has 28 Oceanfront Villas per building.

I'm sure Doug will better quantify the numbers for you when he reads your thread.

My count was based on the total of Two and Three Bedroom Oceanfront Villas per building, but I do think there are more than 7 two bedroom Oceanfront Villas per building. Remember that the 3 Bedroom Villas lock off into a 2 Bedroom and a studio, so that can increase the potential number of available 2 Bedroom Oceanfront Villas available at any given time.

There is a sleeping cap difference between a standard 2 bedroom and a 2 bedroom locked off from a 3 bedroom. A std 2 bedroom is 6/2/8 and a 2 bedroom locked off from a 3 bedroom is 6/2/6. I do not know if they the room types are mixed when OP assigns room numbers for II guests.

There is one two bedroom and one three bedroom OF villa on each floor. (except KF)

The first four buildings, Sailfish, Dolphin, Cobia and Pompano have seven floors each. Each floor has 1 2b OF and 1 3b OF. The 3b can be had as a 2b but I would prefer to have a regular 2b rather than a master side of a 3b. In fact if they gave me that over a regular 2b I wouldn't accept it.

There are 28 2b OF units and 28 3b OF units in the main complex. The ones on the first three floors have little or no OF view because of the landscaping.

Since the OP didn't want Kingfish I won't describe how it is laid out.

With the OP renting directly from an owner, they will get whatever the owner owns. If that is a 2BR side of a 3BR lock off, that is what they will get. If it is a 2BR lockoff unit, they will get that. I doubt they will be able to downgrade to an oceanside in order to avoid being in Kingfish. Though being an owner rental, they will carry the owner clout in the pecking order and get what they desire.
