The parking pass person worked super hard to get me to an update, including calls to room and my cell for last three days.
Her "hook" was that they need to give me a code for some VIP streamlined booking they either have now or will have shortly.
Is this just made up nonsense like usual?
Or is there a new feature for booking?

Not sure sure about this new feature. What I usually do is just walk pass the parking desk (unless it's clearwater and I need the key card to open the gate) and and just ignore that they even exist and continue to my room with luggage upon getting my room key. When I enter the room I unplug the phone cables from all phones. I either ignore all calls to my cell phone or answer it and say, "You'll get zero percent of my time during my stay." That usually does it or just block the wyndham number that calls your mobile (you can unblock after the trip).

Possibly a new feature but more then likely just another BS line sales uses to lure you into another hard sell.

I never give my cell number at check in. Always my home number. I don’t even have it listed on my account. I get emails if someone leaves a voicemail, so if the front desk is actually calling me, hopefully they will leave a message.

Many of the resorts are now sending texts to remind guests of 1) check-in, 2) events during the week, 3) check-out times, etc. I get them on my phone because I don't give Wyndham my renters' phone numbers. (I don't know for sure that Sales would get those numbers but I have my suspicions.)

I've never seen anything of great importance in the texts -- nothing that a renter wouldn't/shouldn't already know. That could change, I suppose.

When we were in Daytona Beach earlier this year as Hurricane Dorian was approaching the owner we rented from got several text updates from the resort about the impending storm, so they do use the numbers of useful purposes sometimes at least.

I got the same call about PIN code etc at Ocean BLVD. The first call was to ask me if I needed anything like towels, coffee etc then added invitation to 30 minute meeting. I declined. Another call soon followed offering me $100 gift card etc. She told me things have changed since Covid. I said "No they haven't. Whenever I tell you people that I am not interested, you ignore that and continue to drive your sales pitch"
She said that she wasn't in sales and this was just to setup my PIN number. I told her that it's not a common practice to bribe people to fill out standard paperwork.
That was the end of it.
