My $0.02 worth...
is the Cape a good, or should I say, fun place for teens? Other than bike and swim what is there for them to do?
That depends a whole lot on exactly where on Cape Cod you're talking about, as the areas differ considerably from one another.
I grew up on "lower" Cape Cod (generally regarded as being Orleans to Provincetown). It's by far the prettiest area of Cape Cod (in my not so humble opinion), due in large measure to the development-restrictive presence of the National Seashore (actually part of the National Park system under the U.S. Dept. of the Interior --- all thanks to the late President John F. Kennedy). Nice beaches, but perhaps not a
whole lot for teens besides the (very nice) bike trails, the beaches and the occasional mini-golf. Provincetown is of course a real social and cultural "eye opener" in and of itself for people of ALL ages, but that's a whole other topic...
The mid-Cape (i.e., greater Hyannis area) is much busier, much more developed and congested, has a lot more "commerce" (shopping, traffic, malls, etc.). Less safe bicycling obviously, for all of those very same reasons.
An area like Mashpee (which I even bother to mention at all
only because there are timeshare facilities located there) would unquestionably be just a complete "snooze" for teens; they would be absolutely bored to tears. Falmouth would be somewhat less so, but still a bit of a "yawner" for teens, I would think. There is a (small) marine aquarium in Woods Hole if that might interest them on a rainy day, but the area is otherwise generally not too "youth oriented".
Different strokes for different folks, of course. Just keep in mind that different parts and areas of Cape Cod are truly and
very distinctly different from one another. Then again, if you're planning (or should I say, hoping...) to "exchange" into a Cape Cod timeshare in the summer months, you'll likely just have to take anything at all that you are offered in that "peakest of the peak" and "reddest of the red" time period. Good luck, enjoy.
P.S. I swam in the Atlantic Ocean on most decent summer days when I was young on lower Cape Cod. Is it cold? You betcha. Too cold for teens who are, by definition, generally a bit "numb" anyhow? Nah...
