I went to an owner's update meeting In Williamsburg at the end of December.
The salesperson as always tried to convince me that my maintenance fees were so high that I needed to buy 200K points in a low fee location - NYC? - . They used the 10 year cost to illustrate. The lady made the argument that my heirs would be liable for the fees forever. I told her I didn't think so.
Does the timeshare albatross follow us into the grave?
My kids will not pay the large maintenance fees but I don't want them to have to deal with dumping them upon my eventual demise.
Does anyone know how this works? (obligation after death)

The saleswoman was lying, as usual. Your heirs can always file a disclaimer of interest if they would rather not inherit your timeshare deeds.

EDIT: Of course, you can always name your favorite Wyndham salesperson in your will to inherit those high-MF deeds & let them deal with it.

I believe Wyndham can go after your estate for back maintenance fees, etc., even if your kids don't want the timeshare. I like the idea of willing it to someone you don't like, like one of the hundreds of lying sales weasels.

The estate is only responsible for the current obligations - not for all eternity. Once the heirs refuse the inheritance, and the current timeshare fees are brought up to date, the estate can distribute the rest of the inheritance to the heirs, and give the timeshare back to the resort HOA.
