I don't know when they made this change (I haven't used Redweek for awhile), but it's interesting to see that Redweek now offers a "Redweek Verified" designation on listings (for an additional fee when you list a week for sale/rent). It also makes me wonder if RCI and Interval are trying to crack down on exchange weeks being rented? This is from Redweeks' FAQ's on the verification option.

Can I verify a week obtained through exchange?
No. Both RCI and II prohibit the rental of weeks obtained through their exchange systems; RedWeek cannot verify this type of rental.

Renters could always ask to see the owner's/member's original confirmation...or be on the lookout for a confirmation directly from RCI or II (though I've heard there are exceptions to that with some chains).

I hate to see yet another layer of fees and likely won't play. I always upfront offer to show renters my confirmation or help them call the resort directly. Of note, I've never had a renter specifically ask for this in over 10 years of renting.

I just had to show two separate renters --a copy of my Marriott Vacation ownership-- and my vacation week. I just copied and pasted the info into an email. So it does happen. It only happens with my high rent properties come to think that f it.
