Wow. Big change but probably not a huge surprise. They were having financial difficulties even before 2020.

Darn. They went the way of Freddy Laker.

Too bad. My brother and I took Norwegian to get to the Camino de Santiago two years ago. It was much, much cheaper than any other airline that we could find. I guess that's why they came close to going out of business, and are eliminating trans-Atlantic now.

We will miss them, they 'rescued' us with a reasonable fare home when Thomas Cook shut down and we didn't have a way back from Europe. I hope this consolidation allows them to retrench and expand again later.

I know people don't love the nickel and dining of the ULC airlines, and I get it, but they're usually the airlines I can afford to buy three seats for two people on. I'm too cheap for higher class travel if I'm not using points, but if for a couple hundred bucks we can have the row to ourselves, I'm all over that. I'm sad to have that option gone

Though not as extensive a route system as Norwegian had, I’d suggest considering Level as another low cost option to Europe. www.flylevel.com (part of Iberia).
