Can I get some suggestions on the best resorts in the mountains of No. Carolina? I am trying to get an exchange for the end of July. I heard that it is pretty cool in the summer time there.

Hi
We stayed at Chetola several years ago and loved it. Summertime is warm, not hot. The resort is lovely and so is the town. It would be my number one recommendation.

Foxhunt at Sapphire Valley

Foxhunt at Sapphire Valley has beautifully renovated units and the surrounding area is gorgeous with many lakes and waterfalls. The nearby towns of Cashiers and Highlands are also very nice with lots of places to eat and shop.

Whatever you do - DO NOT go to Fontana Dam - it was by far the worst place we have ever been in 25 years of trading. We actually arrived on Saturday and changed out flights and came home on Tuesday. The place was a dump!!

I like Wyndham at Sapphire Valley too. That area's not terribly far from north Georgia either. If you want to go up near Boone, Blue Ridge Village is sometimes mentioned as a favorite, as well as Chetola.
