No paypal buyer protection on real estate (as in timeshare) ebay purchases

I was looking at several ebay timeshare auctions and noticed several that required payment by way of a paypal invoice.
I usually like to use a credit card for the protection it gives a consumer and checked to see if paypal gave similiar protections.
My conclusion is that it does not (always possible I am wrong)
I would be extremely careful of buying under these circumstances and would not do so unless I was very confident of the seller.
I would certainly do a search on tug and I would not rely on the posted Ebay reviews
I would also not put much weight on verified sales which were for a small sum if I was paying thousands

The flip side is that if I was only paying a small sum (that I didn't mind losing) I might gamble--but I would know I was gambling
Stay Safe

And contrary to what I said above here is a post where a tugger got a small refund ($75)
Given the size of the claim paypal may have decided not to alienate a customer but I see no guarantee that the same would occur on a larger transaction
