Hi All,

Santa is likely to deliver to Nintendo DS' for my 7 and 9 yr old boys. the question now is what games are most suitable for their age group and for this platform.

The 7 yr old likes Kirby and Star Wars on Game Cube; the 9 year old is all about football (though I wonder if it's difficult to play football on these smaller screens).

What do your kids of this age group like? Haven't found decisive reviews on line...

thanks,
LAR

My 9yo and 14yo DDs are sitting here, and they say....

Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games
Mario Kart
Advance Wars (not that violent, they say--it's a strategy game)
Spore Creatures
New Super Mario Brothers
Mario Party
Big Brain Academy
Dr. Mario

The 9yo is saying Lego Star Wars; the 14yo is disagreeing.

based on my experience of 8yo and 13 yo who have had DS's for 3 years now, all of the above!

Lego Star Wars is a must for anyone who is into either star wars or lego. It is also a very easy game to learn - even I can play it and i've got "two left thumbs"!

My 13yo DD has every horsey/girly game thats ever been made (or maybe it just seems that way) but she still spends more time payling her brother's Mario games than anything. She thinks Lego Star Wars is just for little boys and won't play it at all.

Another thought - "42 games" is great for anyone to play - it has all sorts of card and dice games plus tic tac toe and other favourites. Great for travelling.

And don't forget two (or more) people can use the "DS Download" feature to play a single game together on two DSs. We've had 7 people playing Mario Kart together.

If you like crossword puzzles, get a copy of the New York Times Crossword Puzzles game for DS. Then when the boys aren't playing, you can do some crossword puzzles. It's nice to have on a trip. The kids have to sleep sometimes!
