Night Heron Loft on Hilton Head ** II MNH??

These are older individual homes that used to be part of the Marriott family. They are inside of Sea Pines Plantation and a short walk (perhaps 5 minutes or so) from the beach along one of the many beach-access sidewalks. Night Heron is about two miles from Coligny Plaza and Pope Avenue, which have numerous shops and restaurants. About 2 1/2 miles from Harbourtown and three miles from South Beach Marina, both also in Sea Pines.
There is an old review in the TUG reviews database that will give you a flavor for these units. Go to the South Carolina reviews and click on "Sea Pines Plantation". Then, using your browser's "search" feature, look for "heron". That will lead you to a 2000 review.

We looked at the Night Heron property during October, 2005. We were disappointed. The unit we walked through was in need of both interior and exterior repairs, was very musty, dated furniture and appliances, and a poor design. It was next to a lagoon that looked like a dump. The units are on "stilts" and quite frankly, look like they could fall over. I understand there's a mix of private homes and timeshares. Bottom line, I would recommend against a stay. The timeshare portion looks to be in financial trouble.
