Okay, we finally broke under years of sales presentations and bought our first timeshare property. Our saleman said that we are automatically enrolled in RCI. So, what do we do now? Do we wait for RCI to contact us with membership information, or do we contact them?

Welcome to TUG. As a sidenote, you should go to the Buying, Selling & Renting forum and give the details of your purchase. If you bought from a developer you might want to reconsider. Buying 'resale' will usually save you 50>75%.

Thanks for the reply. We bought from the developer as the property is still under construction. We already had some equity through their try-before-you-buy program. We didn't want to lose that and it was put toward our purchase. We have put in a year's worth of research and we will buy resale in the future.

sirpres,

It usually takes about six weeks for resorts to complete paperwork and get enrollments to us. It takes just a few days for the enrollments to be processed once we receive them. If it's been six weeks, you can send an e-mail to feedback@rci.com and enter TUG in the subject line. The Communications Team can check to see if your account is set up and give you your RCI ID number. This will allow you to access your account online even before the membership materials arrive by mail.
