We just finished a nice weekend trip to Massanutten....did the tour and are thinking about a purchase on the resale market..We noticed that moutainside trades both rci and II...we also visit Disney alot ( been renting points ) and was wondering if a good red summer week would have enough pull to get something on disney.....We love everything massanutten has to offer anyway...so if it doesn't work we can still enjoy our unit there...Anybody have any info? Thanks in advance

I'm not sure of the exchange power, but you'd need to make sure your week trades through II and not RCI as RCI doesn't exchange into Disney.

No timeshare can trade into Disney(DVC), if there are no DVC TSs deposited into II. Mostly, DVC deposits units into II during off season travel times. During that time a high value TS can get a off season week at DVC but if you really want to go to a DVC TS during peak season travel times, trading isn't the way to get there.

That said, there are many other truely great timeshares in Orlando which are reasonably easy to trade into even during peak trave times.

So if you want DVC (during peak season), I look at other options, BUT if you want a great TS in Orlando, so you can visit WDW and the other Orlando parks, most peak season TSs deposited in II can get you there.

You should ask for a Sightings request from Massanutten owners on the Sightings board to see if they can pull DVC.

You can get a Disney week as long as you are flexible about what size unit you want and what resort you'd like to stay in. (efficiencies and 1 bedrooms are he norm. 2 bedrooms are extremely rare as are 3 bedrooms.) We traded into DVC in July into a 1 bedroom. There seems to be more and more sightings of DVC units available for exchange thru II. Lately there have been Christmas season weeks - November thru December- which is an extremely difficult reservation to get unless you own at the resort you are trying to reserve at. I have also seen weeks available already for March of next year. It can be done but you have to be flexible all the way around. Take a look at some of the posts over at the sightings board.
