Newbie Question: How Often Can I Get Timeshare Offer?

We recently took a HGVC offer to stay at Elara in December 2019. Attended the presentation and declined to purchase.

Want to visit Hawaii in Feb 2021 -- and try out one of the beach front properties in either HGVC or MVCI. We are looking for a studio or 1-bedroom, 3-5 night stay. I googled and an example offer is staying 5 nights in Hawaii for $999 USD and get 100K Hilton points. I'd prefer to pay less money though, or the $999 better be for at least a 1 bedroom suite.

My questions are: 1) how long should we wait before reaching out to HGVC regarding another timeshare deal? half a year? a full year? How early must we book in order to secure a 5-night stay at Hawaii? Prefer Oahu island, a complex with kids friendly activities, and the newer, the better. Best to have some free car rental thrown in.

Any ideas? What's the best HGVC property in Hawaii right now for a family with a 4-year old?

Happy to receive referrals and recommendations. We are savvy travelers (Hilton Gold, Marriott Titanium, Shangri-la Jade) and definitely don't mind wasting two hours on a five-day vacation to get a good deal.

I was told once that the waiting period is 6 months. But then I started using caller ID to duck their calls, and they stopped calling. Someone said that they track repeated turn-downs (IDK). Personally, my vaycay-time is too valuable to let them box my ears for any amount of time.

For a little one, I'd suggest HHV. You may want to buy there to get the 12-9 month home-week advantage, but otherwise you can use your club points starting at 9 months out for the Big Island or pretty much anywhere else.

I believe it’s 2 years, but I’m sure some will correct is that is inaccurate.

Its been around 6 to 8 months after a visit at Elara before HGVC has contacted me again. I haven't pursued any other locations, so I can't help with Hawaii. We stayed at the Elara on their "special deal" in February 2018, May 2019, and February 2020.
