Newbie needs some help with HIVC basics [RCI]

I've looked on the board and have and *read the owners guide for HIVC and I'm still confused. I have "inherited" a former RCI red week in former OLCC, now have points.*

I know how many points I have. *I want to go on a vacation at some time maybe in next year, not home resort. It seems that the only way I can look for anything is to call them? so I can't look online at my leisure or browse, must know where I want to go? Do I have to look a year+ for everything?*

I can't find the site where I can supposedly can search RCI too. I can still login at RCI weeks but now that I have points there is of course nothing to manage. *Clicking "points" in RCI login returns a wrong password message.

Can anyone walk me through the basics of how to keep up with this, managing it? I lost a week not banking it pre- points and don't want that to happen again.*Any help would be much appreciated!
 
Does the "*" in your post have some special meaning?

I suggest addressing your questions to member services.
While TUGgers try to be helpful, getting the scoop straight
from the horses' mouth is often more informative and accurate.

You are confused about the 2 types of points - On the RCI website, the old points system is listed under "Points" & the new points system is listed under "Weeks." It sounds like you need to be using the "Weeks" link.
 
Are your points RCI or HIVC? Call HIVC and see if they can help. They recently added online booking capability.
