King's Creek in WMSBRG VA
Hi everyone. My wife and I have owned (and traded with RCI) a timeshare for over twenty years. King's Creek in VA. Mostly, we used it for our honeymoon thinking it was a clever way to finance that event and end up owning something. We've done FLA a bunch - mostly for stays around the Orlando area after all these kids starting popping out. Most recently, we did Cancun and had an INCREDIBLE time there. Anyway, that was a few years ago and our RCI membership gave out. Our home resort hounds us every six months to pay them loads of money to upgrade to points which I won't do. I ALMOST got swindled by that 'sell your timeshare with us' scamming company. Anyway...just paid my odd year MF a couple of days back and even though the kids are still hanging around, WE DESPERATELY want to figure this thing out enough to use it. Planning ahead has never been our strong suit, but when we have it has been great because we have something to look forward to. We want to get back to a time when we had plans to travel the world - a time before these crotch gremlins started chipping away our souls and expendable income. A little direction, if you don't mind - on which RCI or II we should go with. We have an upcoming (adults-only) trip outside of the TS world to Italy in October. We've been thinking of putting a week before or after that week at some other European country. Is it too late in the year to plan this?

if you are flexible, there's likely something to add on. currently only 1 option in France thru RCI. however, if you put in a search, you might get a hit. There are only a few TS near Paris. you'd have better luck in other French areas. If you are open to Germany/Austria, there are a number of options, same for Italy. Many TS are not in city center, but in places Europeans would vacation--think sea/mountains/countryside. WE have another Europe travel thread going on Vacation Info forum.

In France there is a DRI Resort in Vincennes - Royal Regency. It is a short walk to the end of the Metro into Paris. I would go out early every morning and get fresh bread for the day. We took the Mtro into CentralmParis each day, except one that we spent exploring Vincennes and it's Castle.

Also out towards Normandy is a Wyndham in Connelles. We have stayed in both. Enjoyed both. Connelles is so small it does not have a Bakery. However from there we did day trip to Rouen, Honfleur, Bayeux, Giverny, etc

We were there in October several years ago for 2 weeks. We had great weather. It started to rain the day we left. We got a Rental Car at Charles de Gaulle and drove to Connelles. When we switched over to Royal Regency we drove to the time share and dropped off all of our belongings, including food items, drove to the Airport to drop of the Rental Car and jumped the train and Metro back to the Royal Regency.

Royal Regency is awesome. Fantastic location. We found Connelles to be a little to remote for us, and we gave it a good try. We had a car. We spent far too much time on the road and wound up spending a night in Bayeux at a hotel (last minute) because we didn't want to drive back to Connelles because we were enjoying Bayeux so much. So set up an ongoing search for Royal Regency asap!
