Hello all-

My wife and I have been given a unique opportunity to accept a transfer of BlueGreen ownership for minimal cost. We know somebody who has a time share and is looking to transfer ownership to get out of from under it because they don't travel anymore. We are not sure on points or usage frequency but we know that the sellers pay about 2500 a year for fees.

what are some of the things that we should be looking at regarding the transfer? Do these transfers allow for DVC or RCI exchanges? I read mixed information on that. Overall I am curious what others have experienced regarding this type of transaction.

We are in our 30's and this would be our first time share experience. We travel around the country on vacations and like that it gives us the ability to check out places we may normally not go to and we can afford the current annual dues no problem.

Thank you

I have to first ask, what is minimal cost? Most resale Bg contracts go for between free and $.15 per annual point including the $500 transfer fee. If it is a transfer between relatives the cost is still $500 but the transaction is not subject to ROFR.

Tug is putting together some info on Bluegreen so I would start there then I would join the facebook group Bluegreen Timeshare Secrets.

You need to consider the priority use period and were the ownership is based since that is the only resort where you will get bonus time.

Also consider the Trust Fund and Sales type as well as the earn date and if it's annual or biennial.

You will get a membership to RCI but not DVC. Some Disney resorts show up on RCI but are rare.
