I would like to take my son to NYC in March or April for his birthday. He loves art and I wanted to take him to the museums. Does anyone know of hotel specials for that time period. I have been searching on the internet and am not finding much under $300. a night which is a bit steep for us. I would prefer a studio room but at this point am pretty flexible.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I like to use Priceline.com for NY hotels. I can assure you you wont have to pay anywhere near $300! However, once you have booked a room, you cannot cancel it!!!

Also, VERY IMPORTANT: STUDY www.biddingfortravel.com first.
1) It will give you an idea of which hotels are in which areas.
2) There is a FAQ that tells you exactly how bidding works and how to get the best strategy.
3) You can look at the forum for NY and see what other people have asked and what they have paid.
4) You can even request a bidding strategy, but be sure to answer each question on the request form, else they will not help you.

Try www.hotelclub.com. They have lots of hotel rooms in NYC for quite a bit less than $300. In addition, when you book throught them, you get member dollars which you can use toward future bookings.

I met the owner a few weeks ago. I'm sure he would extend whatever courtesies he will afford me to my TUG family.

We stayed at the Radio City Apartments and they were quite acceptable and in a great location. I don't think you will beat their prices.

Hey - I have never stayed here but some of my friends did and said it was fine, nothing fancy but clean and in a good location.

I have gotten some good deals from www.quikbook.com
Actually also got a good deal for the Belvedere Hotel in May @ 212.00 (AAA rate) per night for double room with small kitchen area. http://www.belvederehotelnyc.com/index.asp
Good luck!
