New York Airport Transportation

I am flying into LaGuardia airport and need transportation to the Wyndham Midtown 45. I was looking at using Uber as they have a $30 promo code I can use, but has anyone ever used them before? I'm a little concerned since this is my first time visiting NYC.

There was a long discussion on New York airport transport awhile ago. I'm giving you the link. Uber was not discussed in this thread, but I've seen others where it was and those that used it thought it was a great option.

CARmel limo service was $30 to NYC from LGA not including tip n toll. They were there waiting for me. Never used uber before so not sure if you get the same service and price??

In the link I provided Carmel is discussed, and someone also provided a way to get a coupon for them. I think this is who we are going to use when we go to NYC in October.

I like Uber alot and use them frequently. I am also of the view that their prices are better than many car services. The only negative is when surge pricing is in effect potentially making them quite expensive. I was told that last winter, surge pricing caused the Uber fares to be 10x normal rates. But because it was snowing heavily and all other car services and taxis were fully busy, people were still using Uber at those prices! A normal Uber fare in a premium suv (Cadillac Escalade, GM Suburban) from Manhattan to JFK is $120 - but 10x surge pricing means that they would have had to pay $1200 to get to the airport during that time!

Our trip plans have changed. We will be flying into Newark airport on a Friday evening and will need to get to Wyndham Midtown 45. The plane will arrive at 12:00 am. Any suggestions from Newark to Manhattan?

If you were considering Uber from JFK to Manhattan, then you should also use Uber from Newark to Manhattan. The price into Manhattan whether from EWR or JFK is similar.

I would take the train from Newark Airport to Penn Station and a cab from Penn Station to your hotel. Very convenient to catch the train right at the Newark airport and the cost for this option would also be less unless you have a big group.
