Suggestions for New Orleans for New Year's Eve?? Four single women.

Don't want to spend a lot of $$$. Thinking dinner somewhere and Jackson Square @ midnight unless someone has some better suggestions.

Decent or better food with emphasis on "not a lot of $$$" -- Daisy Duke's on Chartres between Canal and Iberville, The Jimani (more of a bar than Daisy Duke's) on Chartres at Iberville, Cafe Maspero on Decatur at Toulouse. There are dozens of others not too far from Jackson Square. Check www.tripadvisor.com for reviews and price ranges.
