Do any tuggers have suggestions on where would be a neat place to celebrate New Years Eve?

We will be in Pasadena in the afternoon but am staying in Oxnard. We're a group of six, age 70's (young at heart) to nineteen (under age). We have two vehicles and can split up if necessary. My husband and I have no interest in spending it at a high priced bar that's too loud. Are there any fireworks worth seeing? Anyplace else that might be an "ahh" moment?

Thanks!

Only suggestion I have maybe the fireworks at the Queen Mary in
Long Beach, but it's kind of far from Oxnard.

As luck would have it, the UW-Madison pep rally is at the Santa Monica pier the same time out daughter performs at Bandfest. We may be heading down there afterwards, regardless, just for the heck of it.

When we were at Channel Islands, we went to Port Hueneme to see the 4th of July fireworks. It was foggy but it was a pretty good show. I would guess Ventura would have something (or even Santa Barbara) - if you want to head the other direction! Check their Chamber of Commerce listings!:)
