I’ve posted a new video review of a 1 bedroom unit at mountain valley lodge in Breckenridge, CO. this unit is in the Eagle building and is a corner unit. One thing we’ve learned about this particular resort is, while all units are similar, the layout changes depending on which building you’re in and if you’re a corner unit or mid building unit. It is one of the more unique layouts of any of the Marriotts we’ve stayed in.

This is the one I am trying to get for our daughter-in-law's birthday. I keep watching for a retrade for this one, and even a studio would be fine with her.

Did you book with Marriott or II? I have no Abound points to use for the current year, but boy is it cheap to stay with points during the late summer/ fall.

We booked a single night less than 60 days using points. We’re actually staying on our ownership week at grand Colorado on peak 8. I wanted to update our video on MVL from 2 years ago plus I wanted video of a unit in one of the towers rather than the 3 story buildings down by Maggie Pomd.

You're a true content creator Doug! I've done the very same thing to make videos. We've booked a night somewhere so I could go and film the room and even the resort at times. Trying to figure out how to do this for DSVI in October. We have the 2BR at DSVII but have only stayed in a studio at DSVI. I want to be able to get video and photos of the full 2BR at DSVI. We were booked into a 2BR at DSVI but found a cheap getaway for DSVII for the same week. So we retraded out of the DSVI 2BR. Thus the DSVI 2BR eludes me.

I used the short notice discount using points to book the night at MVL. One of the advantages of chairman’s level is a 60 day window and 30% discount. If it’s off season then a night is relatively inexpensive. The drawback is being relegated to what’s left over, but in off season getting a single night isn’t necessarily that difficult. If I can grab a midweek night it’s even better.

The discount is great. I've also tried to pull it off for bookings while on a cruise but it has never worked out. We will be in St Kitts and St Thomas in December on cruise stopes, but right now there is no availability at the Marriott resorts in either for the days we will be in port.

Needing specific days puts a dent in the short notice booking. I think I had a choice of one day for and only the 1 bedroom unit for our specific week.

I wish we lived on the West Coast. Because there are so many more Marriott's resorts to visit. IMHO.

Its our go to resort for Winter skiing and Summer to get out to the Denver heat. They just remodeled all the rooms, a welcomed update. Just arrived in the Sheraton in Steamboat, might need to book some time here for next Summer, its a nice resort!

We were at the Sheraton Steamboat this past June. We enjoyed our stay and the town so much we booked it again for next year.

I was just there this past weekend. Had a mid-building 1 BR in Angler. Last Thanksgiving I had the same layout as your video, but in Downhill.

We’ve enjoyed staying in the Angler building twice, but my wife has decided she liked the room layout we had in Eagle better. We’ve been in three different room layouts at MVL. The mid-building long room layout in Angler, the somewhat cut up configuration in this video in Eagle. There’s yet another room configuration on a mid-building 1 bedroom in the tower building of Eagle and I assume Downhill. I believe the website shows the room layout as is in this video because it’s the most prevalent at the resort.
