As someone who follows these True Crime types of stories, I find it disconcerting that Lori Vallow and Chad Daybell were detained in Lihue after checking into Kauai Beach Resort late January 2020.

I don’t know why they checked into this resort when they were renting a >$6000 per month condo in Kaiulani Princeville townhome complex, but that is where Kauai police found them for questioning on the whereabouts of their children before releasing them again.

Their trail of destruction went from Arizona, Utah and Idaho to their new hideout in Hawaii.
Reportedly when Lori Vallow was apprehended in Lihue, she had a ziplock bag full of cash. No knowledge of where her minor children are, but she sure has her creature comforts well taken care of. Ahh, the beauty of last minute accommodations.
This led me to recall another case when “affluenza” teen Ethan Couch and his mother Tonya Couch fled Texas and holed up in a Puerto Vallarta timeshare in 2015. They were apprehended in their timeshare after they were detected ordering pizza from their cell phones.
Who said they didn't appreciate last minute I.I. vacations? Great to have the option of the 2-3- bedroom accommodations before settling into the "spartan studios" of the Big House. I hope Lori and Chad find their smaller accommodations sooner rather than later.
