I have never experienced this one.....

I am staying at Umbrella Beach on Anna Maria island. I just got a call directly into my unit phone number from a TS salesman from Spinnaker Resorts in Hilton Head inviting me to a weekend for the purposes of a solicitation. Spinnaker doesn't have any connection to Umbrella. How they got the phone number here, I have no idea. I called management here and notified them. They were not too happy that their guests are bring disturbed. Guess salesmen are getting really desperate. WEIRD !!!

They probably call all the units - if you had a few of the numbers, it wouldn't be hard to figure out the format for the other unit phone numbers

sometimes they are methodical

Yeah, we've had the same thing happen to us. We've even had these messages on our phone, before(?)/when we first get to the unit. One gave us the old 'we have a buyer for your timeshare' speel. In Branson and Gatlinburg others were trying to sell us discounted tickets for shows, air fare, and transportation -- supposedly not associated with timeshares.

It didn't take long before we learned to unplug the phone when we first get to the unit, and use our cell phones and email for communication. If the resort really needs to contact you they have your unit number, and most will take a personal phone number when you check in.

I know I'm probably jinxing myself but I've never had this issue while on a timeshare vacations.......and we're in a timeshare for at least 3 or 4 nights 9 to 10 months out of the year.
