I am new on here. I've been a member for a couple months. My home resort is Destin, FL. 2012. Originally Orlando from 2011(If there is a more proper place to blog about that experience of buying let me know). Anyway I just did a exchange with RCI in Orlando at Vacation Village at Parkway. So if anyone has been there I would appreciate any info on the unit. I know from what I have read they have built a new building, 21, I believe. Just was wondering if one of the other buildings is closer to pool view(and good shape (building wise)) since our 5 year old granddaughter is coming with us. Also is there a time frame I should call and request a certain building?? Also would the Holiday Inn club vacations at Orange Lake Resort been a better option? They only had a studio available and I was 11000 points short of a 2 bedroom..
Thx
James

If you stay in bldg 21 you will have a bit of a walk to a pool (by bldg 3-4-5-6)as I don't believe the pool for the new building is done yet (or even planned). Check the posts (search for them) in the Florida section about VV@P, lots of information and even a resort map in there.

The buildings (17?) at the north end have a great pool for kids with a splash/play area and zero entry but its quite a hike out to US-192. If you have a 2 bedroom booked you'll have lots of space for your grand-daughter as they are all lock-off units. She'll have her own bathroom, kitchen & living room so her bedroom will be in the other unit (common door) which could be a problem given her age.

When we go (almost annually) I call about 2 weeks prior to check in to request a certain unit/floor and make note of who I spoke with. Of course the type of unit (A/B or A/C) you booked will determine which buildings you will be able to stay in.

Have a great vacation!

VV at Parkway is a great resort... Did you get a 2 bedroom????

I think this wound be much better than Orange Lake because when we went there, the pools were far far away from our unit.. Barely even walking distance .

Friends have been at Parkway many times, maybe they canard use on buildings.. I'll ask

When are you going?

We stayed there for a week summer before last on an RCI Last Call. Last Calls seem to usually be available there.

VVP was fine, but nothing like Bonnet Creek. I think we were in Bldg 9 and we had a small pool right outside our patio.

The resort itself is conveniently located. It's only about 15 minutes from most of the WDW theme parks and just off I-4. Just down the road are a wide range of restaurants and grocery/drug stores are also very nearby. The best grocery is a BIG Publix just a couple of blocks away.

VVP is also just down the road from Celebration, which has a number of nice restaurants. Even when we're staying on the other side of Orlando for non-WDW stuff, we come down to Celebration to eat at Columbia.
