Hi! My MVC Willow Ridge resale was just transferred to me. I’m very familiar with DVC and Club Wyndham but this website wasn’t quite as self explanatory as the others. Any sites or YouTube videos that give a quick tutorial on how best to use MVC contract and website? I’m unlikely to stay at my home resort; more likely to deposit into II or to book at another MVC location. Thanks for any pointers or replies!

You can’t just “book at another MVC location”- you need to either stay your ownership or exchange via II.
You do have priority exchanging in brand and a discount exchange fee in brand but other than that it’s just regular II (and you don’t have to do anything special to get these- automatic on II).

Thanks. I just found some YouTube videos. I think I’m having trouble bc the Marriott vacation club site is down…

Prime advice:
1. Find out what week or weeks in Interval have the highest demand (referred to as TDI) and book it. Easiest to book it 1 year in advance. Use the Marriottvacation club site to find out the earliest that you can reserve your home week. It's under "tools" I think.
2. Deposit your reserved week into Interval as soon as you can and put in your request for an exchange as far in advance as you can.
3. After you deposit and put in your request, also check daily on Interval to see if something popped up that is of interest. If you find something manually, book it right away. Don't think that you can wait a day or two to figure it out.

Fellow DVC owner, Club Wyndham and Willow Ridge…if you can make the Wyndham website work for you you will be fine with the MVC weeks site.
Lol don’t count out staying at Willow Ridge. Purchased it primarily for trading we stayed once to see what is about and we loved it so much so we are heading back this summer.

- I have used a couple of the tug members websites both before I started adding Marriott resales and after.

No more 2024 weeks are available so I guess I’m throwing away a year of maintenance fees that were paid to get this resale contract.
I did reserve a 2025 week in a lockoff and selected owner deposit into II but now I’m not sure how to put in a request for an exchange. Do I need to separately open an interval account and should I just buy the 5yr platinum for the most “bang for my buck”? Thanks for your help.

For Wyndham, there’s a direct link for RCI.

Again, thanks for everyone’s help. I’m sure I’ll get the hang of things in a few months but even all the highest TDI weeks for 2025 are reserved and I’m losing out on 2024 so I’m just trying to make the most of everything as quickly as possible!

Ask Marriott for a supplemental replacement week (I think that is what it is called). If you got 2024 use in your contract, they should be able to make this happen. They simply transfer one of the weeks they deposited to your II account. You can even lock off if they have them.

Not sure if you can add the MVC to your Wyndham account, or whether you need a new II account. @noreenkate can you advise?
Don't bother with II platinum unless you know you are going to use the benefits, start with basic, you can add Plat anytime you want.

I am in the exact same position as yourself. You may be a week ahead of me as you have access to your account. I have been advised by broker that MNarriot has affected the transfer.

Follow the advice of @dioxide45 regarding calling Marriott for a supplemental deposit. I had read about that previously.

Platinum has value if you are accessing getaways; up sizing units; or using guest certificates. I have it and find it pays for itself on the latter two items.

Agreed, if you use those benefits its worth it. If you don't know you are going to use them then you can just get basic and upgrade anytime that you get to the point where you will use the benefits.

You will need to join II independently and pay the yearly fee. Sometimes they have specials for 2 years for 1 though that's not been common lately. They do offer discounts for 3 & 5 year memberships. The Platinum season goes to the end of the year, I'm surprised there are no weeks available. I'd try again. You paid the 2024 maintenance fees? There are some lessons here for new resale buyers to pay attention to timing of the seasons, likelihood of a week being available and the fees associated.

If you already have a II account, it is worth bumping up to Platinum for one year when adding your MVC week; otherwise, you will be charged a fee to add your Marriott week. Paying an extra year II membership or bumping up to Platinum will avoid that fee.

@Angel1123 - I opened a 5 year regular account with platinum the first year for a for another interval trader ( WLM ) to see how much use I would get our of the benefits. I added Willow ridge to that “individual” account. The first year I didn't use nearly the amount of guest certificates or getaways that I thought I would. We actually used more in RCI through Wyndham strictly for specific locations. That said I have upgraded to platinum again this year. I did however use the platinum discounted room size upgrade for the studio portion to upgrade to a 1 bedroom at SSR.
So @Hindsite has a point platinum may or may not be worth it in the long run.

It may just have been because I let my last II Platinum upgrade subscription expire, but as recently as mid August 2024 I was offered one of the specials for 2 years for 1.
I said that I was only really interested in a longer period, so they agreed to 2x 2 for 1 to give me the deal for 4 years, which was cheaper than any of the other options I have seen.
Apart from the other benefits already mentioned, we use the Priority Pass benefit quite often for airport lounge access when on short haul flights in Europe,

Did you check inventory all the way to the end of the 2024? Even a last-minute deposit would yield some great resorts within 60 days through II.

This is precisely why I do not require the reimbursement of maintenance fees.

It's really Marriott's fault that you aren't getting usage for 2024 because they take forever to transfer a week over.

Hi there I have a few questions for you regarding the Priority Pass through Interval Platinum membership. I have a few PP carda but through credit cards so have never used the PP membership.

I am wondering if the PP benefits are like what you get from the Chase, Amex, etc credit cards? Is there a charge to go into the lounge for the PP holder? First 2 guests included or are you charged for guests? Most importantly, can the Interval PP be used at restaurants on the PP list?

Thank you

Yes there is a charge to go into the lounge with the II Platinum benefit (£24 for us in the UK), which is a saving dependent on each normal individual lounge cost.
With the II Platinum benefit you don’t have to pay the Priority Pass membership though, which for the 4 years I have is itself more than I paid for the II Platinum upgrade itself.for that period.
I am honestly not familiar with restaurants on the PP list, I will have to check that out.

Even the Marriott AMEX took the restaurant credit away a few years ago and that's part of the reason I canceled it. I use the benefit quite commonly through my Chase Sapphire Reserve. My wife as well since we pay for a card for her so she gets a separate PP membership. We've been able to find restaurants where the PP gives a credit fairly often and really enjoy the Corona Beach House option in MIA.

My Marriott AMEX still has the restaurant credit, were there certain cards that lost it? I preferred the Marriott Hotel credit that they previously had, however I find I get the $25 credit every month with my AMEX on dining out.

Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant® American Express® Card, maybe they brought it back when they raised the fee but they absolutely did away with this part of the PP before we canceled it. But to make sure we're talking the same thing, with the CSR the PP has some restaurants in airports where you have a cash allowance. This is different than any reimbursements as part of the $300 allowance. The AMEX had that when we got it but they took it away.

I don't believe any of the Amex product's Priority Pass still include the airport restaurant perks (usually around $27 a person x 2). I know at the FLL airport, there is a restaurant which takes the Chase SR Priority Pass, and they have all sorts of signs that the PP through Amex will not get you the discount.
