New to Hilton, need guidance plz

Don't lose hope of a holiday week as I own on the Vegas strip and have gotten reservations for Presidents week in a 2BDR plus unit twice. I look often when we are planning a ski trip to Breckenridge.

It's a truism in the HGVC system that he who is diligent will get the vacation he wants.

Valdoro is a small development with only 72 units, so it really is based on being on the reservation site at the right time.

I will say that Christmas and some of the popular weeks are going to be tough, mostly because if I owned one of those weeks I wouldn't cancel it to hand over to HGVC for the amount of points it would get me. If you go to Valdoro.com you'll see that owners can rent their weeks easily online. Christmas weeks go for $600 to $700 per night in a regular 2br in my experience. YMMV.

I've been in communication with the seller and he's been great at addressing the MF situation and wants to make it right. He states the owner swore the $947 were the total MF's and since he hadn't listed Valdoro before he went with it. I've asked for a price reduction as suggested and I'm waiting to hear back, the owner is on vacation.

I have to say, this whole MF situation has my head spinning. I bid on this TS in the hopes I could use it over the winter and hearing a few of you owners being able to find ski weeks gives me hope. I certainly don't want to pay over $15K for guaranteed ski weeks so from now on I'll be glued to my computer on the look out for my winter week

A guaranteed ski week in a three bedroom would definitely go for more than $15,000. It's another reason owners hesitate to give their unit to HGVC for points. Why it isn't a 9,600 point unit, I'll never know. More would likely be available in the system if that was the trade. The up-front and MF certainly justify it. Even FAVC treats Valdoro as a special resort along with W 57th, but the point values don't make sense to me on the high end.
