Any updates?
It looks like SOMETHING is moving forward, I found that plans were under review with the city since late 2020 and were making their way through the various Honolulu city departments which have to approve them. The property ownership is still listed as Marriott Ownership Resorts, Inc. It isn't clear what the plans entail but there are recent updates and approvals so I would guess they are getting close to where they could start work.

It looks like they held public hearings on the proposed project in the fall of 2020 and then they started the permitting process, which is fairly cumbersome for a project of this size. But I think it's happening.

The project was delayed due to the pandemic, when Marriott Vacations Worldwide went into cash-saving mode in 2020. The project continues to be mentioned in passing from time-to-time in their quarterly earnings calls as a future location, so it is still in the company's planning. They may talk about any new development projects in the pipeline during their Investor Day presentation scheduled for June 17.

I suspect it will be a lot of folks using points for a 2 to 3 day add on to Ko Olina vs a full vacation
Agree 100%. We have used Marriott points and stayed at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa for an additional few days when going to Ko Olina.

It would be nice if they left some rooms for day use with an early check in for people checking out of Marriott Ko Olina Beachclub with late flights to book with destination points. In the past, if we had a late flight we usually booked our flight home one day earlier than our scheduled check out date. If they had a day rental, we would probably would stay the final day and hang out in Waikiki. Wishful thinking!

KOBC x6, Westin Kierland x2, and we went to the darkside and bought points!
At KOBC and they mentioned this as an enticement to go to an owner's update. I saved myself the time by coming here instead! Lol. Thanks.

I shared this with my wife. She says, Meh. Now if they had something in Kailua, I’d be more interested.
Either way, I’m glad that they’re expanding.
I agree with your wife. Not all that interested in Waikiki unless they start filming Baywatch there again.

You know you can stay after you check out at. KoOlina all day? Maui same deal. Most flights are late afternoon or evening and they accommodate this. Free.

Just drove by the Pulse Waikiki building today and it is all gutted down to the steel I Beams. Looks like will not be ready to late 2023 or my guess mid 2024 for occupancy.
