Hello , I just purchased my first timeshare from Wyndham, full freight as you say. I have been reading this forum for three weeks now and have learned a great deal of how to best utilize my new time share. I am very excited to plan and take future vacations. I want to thank you for your posts and articles on the "how to" use the system.
My sales experience was very positive, but after reading some of the horror stories, I am leery of going to updates. The points program makes perfect vacation sense to me. Today I joined TUG to learn and share. I just wanted to introduce myself and look forward to learning as much as I can so I can take full advantage of the system.

Welcome.

'Full freight' might be painful, but using your TS wisely to make memories that last a lifetime is a wonderful thing and cheap at any price.

Welcome, I too am a "full freighter", gold. 154,000 points will get you into most resorts. More full featured resort will take a few more, but you have a nice start. I had 154,000 points (resale) and enjoyed every year. Only one suggestion BOOK EARlY.

Hi Mike, and welcome.

Hopefully they gave you a bonus to get you temporary Silver VIP status. You'll want to take advantage of that status while you have it.

Did you already own any other timeshares? If so, you have 90 days from date of purchase to get them enrolled in the PIC program. The value in doing so may be that you could get yourself to the next higher VIP tier (at least temporarily). If not, you might want to check to see if you can get one/two quickly enough to get enrolled in that program.

The value of moving from silver to gold is pretty substantial and the PIC weeks could return you some decent point values for reasonable maintenance fees.
