Hi I have been looking at selling my 32000 bluegreen points as I can no longer afford the maintenance . Bluegreen are extremely unhelpful all they want is there pound of flesh and as I looked round I could not find a company that did not want to rip me of no promises of sales but wanted money upfront even the ones that say donate then ask you for money before they will take it of your hands . At last while I was tearing my hair out I found you but I have a few questions before I give my points away:
My 2012 maintenance is due and I have last years unused points can I book a holiday with last years points and give this years points away will both of us be able to use them ?
I have heard that bluegreen will transfer ownership does that mean no closing fees and no lawyers needed ?

The sad truth is that in this economy, most timeshares are selling for 0-10% of original retail. You will probably have to give away your timeshare to get rid of it.

You can keep the points you have and transfer the ownership in 2012, but it would probably be more attractive if you can transfer the current points to them - hopefully a Bluegreen owner will chime in here about how that's done.

I'm glad you didn't get taken in by any of the upfront fee companies - that's always a scam.

You do not need an attorney to transfer you timeshare.

Here is some info. about how to give it away and transfer it, at little cost to you - http://tugbbs.com/forums/showthread.php?t=132509

you will need to pay 2012 mf which are due before Nov 15th if you do not then you will be unable to sell/give away your points since the account will not be fully paid up ( you would have to arrange with the new owner to pay those fees back to you direct but these days there are many sellers who are willing to pay current mf and closing costs)
There is a transfer form online cost around $250 I think but in addition you will have to have the paper work notorised which will cost you around £80.
To be honest it is the wrong time of the year to try and sell/give away
You maybe better paying the exchange fee and using your points for a resort in Europe (or the UK if you are very lucky !!!!) either way you are going to have to pay those 2012 mf , if they are not paid you can neither sell/give or make a reservation. Please also note that they will not transfer with any of the benefits (silver ownership), they will transfer with bonus time at your home resort only (this may not be The fountains even though you sold back your Oasis lakes there, it is the resort named on your paperwork)
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but to give you some idea 12 months ago I bought 21000 points for $53 +costs, these days owners are paying these costs as well .

Just to add your paper work will have to be signed and sealed by a notary public this in the UK can only be done by certain solicitors you will need to either check yellow pages or check online for your nearest I would imagine Leeds being the size it, should have one in your area

Thanks for the help looks like my best shot is to pay my mf and book a holiday in May and then try to give it away with 32000 points to use .

I am not so sure that resale BG points only allow bonus time at home resort. I only have resale points and I have used bonus time at other than my home resort.
