This may change of course, but as of this morning trade power is definitely more restricted, there are a number of 2 bedroom Disney weeks that I can see with a 2 bedroom Grand Chateau, but not the 1 bedroom, I also can see with a 4 bedroom Vacation Village at Williamsburg, but not the 2 bedroom. Previously I could see Disney 2 bedrooms with all of them. Note I am searching with dummy weeks

I have two weeks, same unit at the same resort. Deposited on the same day. One of them is peak season and one is low season (TDI of 125 vs 75) The peak season week is three months after the low season. They both have the exact same trading power. How are they assigning trading power to these?

Trade power for Grand Chateau with June 12, 2027 check-in is:
27 - 2 bedroom
19 - 1 bedroom
17 - studio

For Vacation Village at Williamsburg with July 3, 2027 check-in is:
23 - 4 bedroom
21 - 2 bedroom (both full kitchen and limited kitchen)

Exchange value of Disney weeks in February and March is 31 for a 2 bedroom and 27 for a 1 bedroom

So exchanging a 2 bedroom Grand Chateau into a 2 bedroom Disney week is +4, which is a $99 upgrade fee, whereas exchanging the Vacation Village at Williamsburg is +8, which is a $199 upgrade fee.

My Sedona Springs 1 bedroom reservered for 4/15/28 is only assigned 12 pts. It will be going to RCI this time. I could have been as high as 15 pts had I selected a different week. Last year I used this same week to exchange into Marriott ocean Pointe 1 bedroom, I could make the same exchange now but will cost me $863

What’s the maintenance fee difference between grand chateau 2 bedroom vs the 4 bedroom VVW?

This is interesting, Marriott Hawaii 2 bedroom weeks in November also have a 31 exchange value, but I can see Waiohai and Maui with even the Grand Chateau studio (+14 $599 upgrade fee) and Waiohai I can even see with all the Williamsburg weeks. Ko Olina I can only see with 2 bedroom Grand Chateau.

So there must be something more than difference in trade power for when you can and can't see weeks.

The November dates are within 60 days, but not flex change yet, so it would seem that earlier check-ins require less trade power, but of course you need to pay the upgrade fee for the full exchange value.

But a June Ko Olina 1 bedroom has a 27 exchange value and I can see with a Grand Chateau studio, that's +10, but Williamsburg 2 bedroom to Disney 2 bedroom is also +10 and I can't see even though February/March have earlier check-ins. This could have something to do with Marriott preference though.

There seems to be some back end programming needed yet - I can't even select one of my units to see availability at present. In some cases the uptrade fee gets included in the total due, in other cases it doesn't. None of my 1BR units can see Disney Orlando currently.

I can’t see any DVC units with a one bedroom either.

I'm not sure the exact numbers, but I believe it's about a $500 difference

Not conspiracy theorizing, but it is a fact that a lot of inventory was released today. (Hyatt, Disney, Four Seasons, more Marriott's)

SDO 1-bed (A and B sides) previously deposited: 17
SDO 2-bed: 21

Westin Maui studio is 20 points, so using a SDO 1-bed will cost an extra $99.

Sheraton Kauai studio is 18, so won't cost any extra.

Westin Princeville has different point values for the studio unit depending on dates. For example, July is 24 while August is 21.

Sheraton Broadway Plantation 1 BR regular, gold plus - 17. I think we are getting hurt by the blended deposit.

Patriots Inn, Williamsburg, silver designation, week 29 - 19. This week never saw what the SBP week could see. I am surprised it got a higher value.

My Sand Pebbles, CA, studio only got a 10 for a July week. I used to see great things with this week and traded into 2 BR DVC units several times for the upcharge of $118 (I'm platinum).
RCI gives me 46 TPU for this unit, so that is where I'll be depositing from now on.

Also, being platinum used to give me upgrades for $59 each level. Now it appears that this benefit is gone.

I was searching with dummy 2028 vvw week 28/31 weeks too. Saw the same re: 2 bed/4bed DVC room types.
Re: dummy searches, I'm going by we are viewing with the max amount of TP available (because it shows the TP), but if you lock it in does it get a boost within the TP (without an actual TP numerical increase) if you are looking 182 days out from deposit start, regardless of actually depositing? ie: dummy view vs deposit view?

With my Worldmark float, most Marriotts are no longer available. Interval apparently has reduced inventory with the new changes for Worldmark as of 10/3, rather than expanding inventory as promised. Unless this is a glitch, I feel I have been lied to about Uptrade since I now have LESS inventory to exchange to rather than more inventory as was promised.

So gone is the deposit a year or two early to increase trade power?

Probably, hopefully a glitch. With points there isn’t really more or less availability. You should be able to see everything. The required points just change depending on what you are reserving. When II changed Flexchange to 30 days, did they also change the timeframe when you could use 4000 points for any unit available? Did that change to 30 days too or did it stay at <60?

Nothing official as several reports indicate it stayed @ 60 days. I’ve been documenting what I can see for Jan & plan to try for one later this month.

How is this anything other than a money grab by Interval? The person who relinquished a superior unit gets no benefit, and as far as I can tell, my one current deposit has lost significant trading power. I see no new inventory and would have to pay for an upgrade for weeks that I formerly got for just the exchange fee.

We need a new exchange platform more than ever, especially with the way RCI has gone for rentals rather than exchanges. Maybe this will finally get TUG exchanges going?
