New HHV pictures for Kalia & Lagoon Tower

I got to see the samples this past august when staying there. They were starting the renovation on the penthouse units and working their way down.

What unit is that in Lagoon? I don't remember a 2BR that has a balcony off to the side like that (but also has the little hallway with the table that leads to the BRs). Is that a Penthouse unit?

No, it's not a penthouse unit. Penthouse units would have a staircase leading to the upper floors.
If this is a two bedroom, I'm assuming these are the dedicated two bedrooms facing diamond (see image below). But I would take any views from hilton's pics with a grain a salt.

Good eye Greg. It looks like the photographer "mirrored" the image from the island view end unit, based on the window on right side. Taken from the dining room standing next to the other lanai door. Its oriented like the other side, but that view would be toward the Ilikai and marina.

I'd say the 23rd floor, they show models on that floor during sales presentations.

You may want to request a renovated room.
On August 29, hockeybrain wrote the following (see link to the entire Lagoon Tower renovation thread in the 1st post above).

We recently returned after 11 days at HHV. Reps told us Lagoon renovation starting on or about September 1, 2015 going until early 2016. Nobody knows for sure how long renovations will take but all rooms getting a refresh with the new patterns for show in the lobby. Plumbing supposedly getting opened up so expect the Lagoon to be in really good shape on or about March 1, 2016 if everything goes as planned. People there I spoke with seemed to think they would be done in six months. One elevator will be tied up and the plan supposedly would be renovation from upper floors downward until completed. One or two lower units already were renovated I suppose as mock up rooms to ensure renovation standard.

I also noticed that the Hilton.com site is showing room pics with the new Kali Tower upgrades however the Lagoon Tower pics still shows the current design.

Lagoon Tower and Kalia Tower owners might find additional information from their HOA in their Annual Billing Letter. They normally share some information on the 1st page (I've attached last year's Lagoon Tower letter). Since I own an EOY ODD Lagoon Tower week, I didn't get a 2016 billing letter this year therefore I don't have access to any HOA news that was mailed

Lagoon Tower completion expected by the beginning of March 2016

Just read a recent tripadvisor review called the "Ups and Downs at the Lagoon Tower”, the resort manager responded with the following

"Thank you for staying with us on your recent visit to Waikiki. Thank you also for taking the time to let us know about your experience with us. Good news regarding our rooms is that we are now in the process of doing a complete renovation for the Lagoon Tower units, and have been working from the top floor down. We should be completed by the beginning of March 2016 and we hope you come back and visit us again."
