I along with many other hated the new updated interface when it first came out.

But I have grown to like it better, since it has gotten a bit faster. I just start the search and then jump to another website until the list of available resort are loaded then I come back.

Here is really where those new found "I like it" come into view.....

I missed the new search feature at first, as I did not scroll down on the page with the global map, but alas, at the really bottom of the page is a search function.

I really like this new search feature, you can search by any keyword. No more limited list of 48 resorts, and not more 10 weeks at a time search parameters. It does make searching for targeted resorts for any availability really nice. I like to search for Wyndham deposits and it was a pain, as there are MORE than 48 resorts and searching for 10 weeks at a time made for too many individual searches. Now I just type wyndham and I see anything with Wyndham in the title. Yes I get a couple of non - Wyndham TS but Viva Wyndham all inclusive resort, but I can over look that. As the resort gives me every available wyndham in my entire available booking window that my search week permits. That is great. Much easier for trying to score Wyndham with my internal exchange priority.

I like it.

Actually I like the new search site when it works.....but it definately slows things down and still needs fine tuning, as many times I get to a certain point and then get call VC councellor....or it just hangs there forever....

Yeah you can go to another website while it does its thing, but you could wait a long time......so no crying suze and egret be careful what you wish for cause it has not been very reliable thus far.....

I like the new features and how I can see all the units available at any resort. What a great change over the old method. I actually hardly ever searched RCI because of it in the past.

I wish II's site had decent trades that far out. I like their all available feature.

I log into RCI two to three times per day and it is always very fast. II is very glitchy, but RCI is turning into my favorite site. I love it!

My new favorite way to search...

is to view all locations, and then display resorts by Resort ID, sorted in reverse order. Then you can see availability at all of the very newest RCI affliates. (Some of them are retreads: old resorts with new names/IDs) But I've found a few surprises: Didn't know, for example that RCI now has a resort in Alaska? A new Worldmark in Taos, MN? A new resort new St. George, UT? A couple of new affliates on the coast of Maine?

All of those places are now on my vacation wish list!

I really like the new website. But I haven't actually tried to book anything. Are people still seeing "phantom" weeks that aren't really available?

Thank all of you for your suggestions for using the new RCI site. Sandy Lovell, thanks for reminding me to look alllllllll the way to the bottom of the page....it really did help me. Now I am going to try more of the new tips. Sleep.....I can always do that later.

Ain't Tuggers grand!!!!!

I followed the Tugger's suggestions and did like the new RCI site. If you haven't viewed the tutorial, I would highly recommend that you do so. I was amazed by the new features that I didn't know about.

There are still some phantom weeks unfortunately, that appear, disappear, and reappear (including one I tried in vain to hold or confirm about 15x, over the past few days). I wondered whether those could be weeks someone else had on hold, but they're not - I put something on hold with one deposit, and it vanished from available weeks immediately using another equal deposit.

I really like using the map, as opposed to drilling down thru all the menus/categories. I really dislike the fact that I can't modify an ongoing search myself.

Speaking of new resorts - there's one in St Petersburg, Russia! I'd love to go there! Zero availability, not surprising.

I think the glitchiness of II has gotten worse. It's been really acting up for me the last 2 days. As I'm new to RCI, I find it faster too and I do like the filters.

Kind of unhappy I'm exchanged out. :bawl:

I love the new RCI site! I am a traveler that likes to search either by specific region for the entire year OR a specific time frame for anywhere in the world. The old way it took me hours to try to search this way. The new search engine makes my life soooo much easier! My travel is usually wide open (I'm not tied down by dates or places) so this new way to search is so convenient for me. I find that about 85% of the time it's speedy and no glitches.

I too really like the new RCI weeks website. I just found and booked 2 weeks in Oct 2010 for Vienna--enough time to see the city in depth. I know it is way off in the future, but we will have it to look forward too. I never would have even searched the old system for it, was really just trying to check out the new system.

If the system "hangs" while you're searching just hit "Ctrl-R" keys and the page will refresh quickly. Works every time for me.

Someone mentioned not being able to change an Ongoing Search yourself. Has anyone else had this problem? This would be a big negative if true.

I can not change my ongoing search as well. I can cancel and start over but not change anything. I was wanting to add an extra area but dont want to 'loose my place in line' by cancelling & starting over. Other than that I love the new search feature, its so easy to see where the most availability is if we are thinking of going somewhere with no particular place in mind.
