I recently purchased some FF UDI points. I was just notified that the deed has been sent for recording. The Transfer of Ownership document from Fairfield states there is a balance of 4,000 unused points for 2006. My alottment of 154K will happen on January 1, 2007.

I am assuming there isn't anything I can do with those few points other than letting them expire.

not really, unless you want to buy 24,000 points from Fairfield or much cheaper from an fairfield owner to make a 28 k deposit into RCI for a week.

That's what I thought.

The good news is that I'm starting to understand all this!

Thanks Bill.

If you want to stay somewhere FF for a night or two 2006, within 90 days, you can borrow points from your 2007 useage (no charge to do that).
just another idea...

If you want to go the RCI 28K dposit route, I believe you can do that via FF and they will deduct the necessary 24K points from your 2007 allotment.

All points usage is a personal issue, in the end, myself, I'd just let them expire. To rent 24K points from another member would cost at normal rates for higher points transactions about $5/K.

So we are really talking about $20 for those few points if let expire. As well there may be a $25 FF transaction fee if doing something else.

You just answered my next question--which was going to be: "Would anyone else be interested in those points?" The obvious answer is "Not likely".

Thanks.

You could travel within Fairfield yet this year

You could travel within Fairfield yet this year if you make a reservation within 90 days of checkin (Express Reservation period). Fairfield would borrow the rest of the points you need from your 2007 allotment. I don't think you can use borrowed points for an RCI deposit.

FF points

I'm interested in FF points. Can I ask you how much you paid for the 154K in points?

I bought the points on an ebay auction for $3,350. So I paid just over two cents per point. Most posters here are of the opinion that you should be able to buy points for .02/pt.
