Finally going to buy a new computer. Dell has free delivery now but I like the thought of the good support that I have received at Future Shop e.g. matching prices and returns. I do not use the computer for more than Internet access and Email. What computer and from whom do you recommend? Appreciate any responses. Thanks.

I have worked on many brands of computers. Dell is somewhat difficult. I like the HP's and their service. Just my personal experience with them.

I'm like you re usage. What I do is buy the cheapest I can find in a reputable store. I download free AVG anti-virus and pray. First time I did this my computer lasted from December 2001 until December 2007. I'm on my second $449 laptop, an Acer 4720Z. So far, so good.

I bought a HP from Costco a year ago and so far so good. Costco has a two year warranty and HP service was excellent when I called them. Also, I love the 22" screen that came with it. You might not need that now, but next year if you start editing a lot of pictures, it will be worth it.

That is an excellent computer system.

You may also want to consider a Mac
