If you buy from developer (Hilton), NEVER go that way.
14k bonus points is about $1,800 - $2,500 worth itself.
If you buy annual 5000 points package RESALE, it is about $3,500 - $4,000. You are not getting bonus points with this purchase but compare how much you overpay for 4200 package just for bonus points.

SOLD (DVC, FSRC)
Not a good deal

For recent discussions, see some of the older threads such as this one... http://www.tugbbs.com/forums/showthread.php?t=120751&highlight=rescind

You can find better resale deals. Here are links to Seth Nock & Judy Kozlowski websites. There are the recommended TUG resale agents.
http://www.sellingtimeshares.net/listings/hilton/
http://www.judikoz.com/ContactUs.aspx (use the resort search form under the Buy/Rent tab)

For HGVC, the only thing you give up with resale is ELITE Status and Bonus points.
see this recent discussion regarding Elite Status - http://www.tugbbs.com/forums/showthread.php?t=136521

Just remember you only get one chance to rescind. Back out now and take your time to determine which timeshare is right for you.

Good Luck and Welcome to TUG :hi:

Extremely unreasonable (more like highway robbery)! It is like buying internet stocks in Feb/march of 2011 (before the bubble bursted). Your investment will loose about 80 to 90% right away.

Forget ebay. When it comes to HGVC resale, Seth and Judi are the way to go.

I'll agree w/ this.
Judy lists on ebay too. And why send the OP to Judy or Seth for a property with ROFR, when instead one could hunt for a vegas hgvc without rofr and hope to win it for a low bid? seriously, I'm asking since I don't know, not a rhetorical question.

Well, becuz: (1) a newbie who was about to buy (or may have bought) retail from management, might benefit from a litttle hand-holding for their very first TS; and (b) we shouldn't tell everyone to buy Flamingo.

To the OP -- Hopefully, you have not already signed a contract for that sum, but if you did and are asking if you paid too much... You absolutely did, and if you can, you need to RESCIND immediately in the manner stated in your contract.

I second this statement. Luckily, I was able to rescind my developer purchase thanks to finding TUG. I also took Tuggers advice & bought from Seth. I definitely think the hand holding and assurance in your first transaction is worth a lot. I have since bought my second timeshare through ebay with no problem so far, but I would definitely go with a reliable broker for your first experience.

although I don't own with hgvc, I must respectfully disagree with some of these posters. just because the OP was almost a sucker, they are under the impression that now you need hand holding. Well in my opinion, hand holding is for kids and fools. read up on this site, especially on ROFR. Then go get a better deal then from a broker, ON EBAY.

Now if you wanted a specific property, WHICH happens to have ROFR, then there is no problem going with a reputable broker.
