That's great news Jason n ross - the standard TUG advice is to spend about 6 months researching timeshares, read this board extensively, and buy where you want to travel or get a high-quality points system. Timesharing is a wonderful way to vacation except for the sleazy criminal element that sells them.

Again a Westgate Plant Hollywood resale comes with no benefits from Hilton. It is a timeshare in the Westgate System located in a building sold to Hilton in Banruptcy Court

As you realize, but the sales weasels & corrupt owner of Wastegate wants to confuse everyone about, those that got stuck with a Wastegate ownership at the former Wastegate Tower of Terror are NOT getting any special access to Hilton branded and redone units. They are, and likely forever will be, stuck with the now orphaned few floors actually completed by Wastegate in it's inimitable faux Italian, fake leather couch, glitzy and Kmart cheap look. Although now managed by Hilton under an agreement to save Wastegate from complete collapse and potential bankruptcy, Hilton merely does what the sleaze from Wastegate says as their management and does not own or control those units.

Owning at any Wastegate is a nightmare but the infamous Tower of Terror debacle lowered an already incredibly bad purchase/ownership to new levels of bad decisions. It is a shame those that fell for the Wastegate line are now saddled with that huge error in judgement but Hilton isn't adding any value or bailing out those poor beleaguered owners. Once Hilton has units that meet their high standards ready to go they will be selling and operating those as a totally separate operation from the old Wastegate ones. No cross use, not even the same exchange affiliation - two resort operations totally independent of each other in the same physical building.

We need to let newcomers know that getting a Wastegate Elara unit is NOT getting a Hilton resort or experience. Not to own or trade / rent. Only the overall resort name was changed not the dreadful Wastegate experience for those unfortunate enough to have to deal with WG in any shape or form.
